The cave museum is up a steep hill which goes up from the Camino de Sacromonte. You can walk from Plaza Nueva but it is uphill so many people catch the 31 minibus and get off at Peso de la Harina in the Cuesta Chapiz and then walk along the Camino de Sacromonte. The 34 bus goes all the way but it is a very infrequent service so don't wait for it - just get on the 31 and walk.

There are several caves with exhibitions of traditional crafts such as basketry, blacksmithing, weaving, cookery, etc. There are often art exhibitions. People have lived in Caves in the Sacromonte for many years. Two of the caves have been decorated in the style that would have been used many years ago when over 3000 people lived in the caves of the Sacromonte.

There are often Flamenco performances when the weather is better and there is an open air cinema in July and August.

One of the most pleasant features of museum is the wonderful views of the Alhambra. There is a telescope for you to use..

Price is 5 euros per person.

10:00 - 14:00 and 16:00 - 19:00 (Tuesday - Sunday)
